Quality management in transition: interactive dashboards instead of rear-view mirrors
What used to be an annual report can now be an interactive dashboard.
Quality indicators, which were previously used retrospectively and cumbersomely, are rapidly developing into a strategic tool for modern hospital management.
However, the added value does not come from the raw data itself, but from intelligent processing. Only when SIRIS, Swissnoso or other quality data is integrated into interactive platforms can clinics:
✅ Recognize developments at an early stage
✅ Derive measures systematically
✅ Increase comparability across clinics
✅ Conduct fact-based quality discussions
A current example: Our dashboard is already being used in one hospital group - and the effects are obvious. Trends that previously only became visible after publication of the annual report are now recognizable in the current year.
This is what it looks like in practice

👉 What clinics should know now:
- Transparency is a must - but without visual and interactive presentation, the benefits remain piecemeal.
- Real-time-like use of quality data increases efficiency AND patient safety.
- Open, manufacturer-independent platforms ensure future viability.
- Standardized interfaces (e.g. to SwissRDL) are the key to comparability and benchmarking.
📌 Conclusion:
Dashboards are not an end in themselves. The breakthrough comes from the smart connection of data sources, IT infrastructure and clinical processes. Those who rely on interactive and interoperable platform strategies early on will gain digital sovereignty - and lay the foundation for more precise, fact-based and resource-saving quality work.
